Is your credit union teaching financial responsibility and rewarding good behavior?
Well, Citi and Myspace are teaming up to launch the Citi Forward by Myspace credit card that rewards cardholders for being financially AND socially responsible. They call it the “credit card that rewards you for doing the right thing.”
This no annual fee card touts benefits like:
- 0.25% APR reduction when you make a purchase, stay under your credit line and pay on time 3 billing periods in a row
- 100 points each billing period when you pay on time and stay under your credit line
- 5 reward points for every $1 you spend on books, movies, music and at restaurants
- 1 reward point for every $1 you spend on other purchases
- 2,500 bonus points when you sign up for paperless statements within 3 months of your account opening
- Up to 1,200 points when you participate in Twelve Resolutions like donating canned food, volunteering at an event or using recyclable bags
In addition, Citi Forward offers a variety of credit education and online features like Spend Tracker, a tool that lets you estimate your spending on common purchases and track it against your peers to help you evaluate your spending habits.
But what do you get for all those points? Exclusive Myspace Rewards, of course, such as:
- Myspace music downloads
- Donations to a charity of your choice
- VIP access to concerts, movies, charity galas and more
- Your own event for you and your 100 closest friends
To kick off the launch, Citi Forward wants to hear from “Voices of Generation Forward” and how they are making an impact. Entrants can win their choice of tickets to a VIP Concert Experience, trip to a charity gala or access to a movie premiere.
What could your credit union be doing to reward good behavior and teach smart financial habits?
As a 20-something, my score on the "Generation Soup Test" was 18. What's funny (and probably typically Gen-Y) is that I hesitated when I had to go to a different page to send you my response, instead of just seeing the results at the bottom of the quiz page or being able to submit right there. However, I did make it over to your blog ;)
